Gym Receptionist

We are looking for a warm, confident and service-focused Gym Receptionist to join the team at Soho House Mumbai.

This is more than a front-desk role. You will be one of the key faces of our gym, responsible for creating a welcoming experience for our members and guests while supporting the smooth and safe operation of the facility.

• Welcome and engage with members and guests, ensuring a warm and personalised experience at every visit.
• Build strong relationships and rapport with our members and understand their needs and preferences.
• Handle member enquiries, requests and feedback in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
• Manage the gym entry and exit system, ensuring appropriate access and security procedures are followed.
• Support membership administration and maintain accurate member and operational records.
• Actively promote available memberships, gym services, challenges and House initiatives.
• Encourage members to participate in gym challenges, wellness initiatives and other activities.
• Ensure the gym, reception and surrounding areas are clean, organised and maintained to a high standard throughout the shift.
• Carry out regular checks of gym equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are safe, clean and ready for member use.
• Be attentive to members using the facilities and support their safety and overall enjoyment of the gym.
• Follow all Health & Safety, Safeguarding and emergency procedures.
• Take ownership of issues as they arise and proactively find solutions.
• Escalate incidents, maintenance concerns or member issues appropriately.
• Work closely with the wider House team to ensure a seamless member experience.
• Support the wider gym and wellness team with day-to-day operational requirements.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience in hospitality, fitness, wellness, hotels, clubs or another customer-facing environment.
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is naturally warm, approachable and confident when interacting with people.
• Enjoys building relationships and delivering personalised service.
• Has a genuine interest in fitness, health and wellness.
• Is organised and comfortable handling basic administration and computer systems.
• Is confident promoting memberships and services.
• Can remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
• Takes ownership, uses initiative and looks for solutions rather than simply escalating problems.
• Understands the importance of cleanliness, safety and presentation in a premium gym environment.
• Is flexible to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
