About BlackRock Index Services
BlackRock Index Services (BIS) is responsible for the design, development, and administration of Fixed Income, Multi-Asset, and Equity indices used by both internal and external clients. Our success hinges on producing and supporting highly accurate, best-of-breed indices.
BIS is looking for an experienced Lead Business Analyst to join the team to help design, implement, and support our Equity, Fixed Income & Multi-Asset Index business.
Role Responsibilities
As a VP within BlackRock Index Services, you will be responsible for helping the team build out our Equity, Fixed Income & Multi-Asset Indexing capabilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define platform requirements for the creation and maintenance of Equity, Fixed Income & Multi-Assetindices
• Contribute to the design & implementation of automated Production workflows and systems to meet product delivery SLAs
• Ensure that all production processes run on time, with zero errors
• Develop the Data Governance framework for Index Methodologies
• Collaborate with Research team for developing Index Methodologies
• Assist with creation and onboarding of new Index products.
• Establish partnerships with internal clients to define best-in-class Index requirements
• Ensure that Indices calculated daily adhere to respective Index Methodologies
• Leverage external providers to research best sources of data for index creation
• Perform testing of in-house software and external vendor products
• Track corporate actions taking place within the Equity & Fixed Income markets, and ensure indices are handling events properly
• Validate Corporate Actions data by analyzing Vendor Data Feeds, Exchange & SEC/Regulatory filings and Press Releases
• Plan & manage the work for a team of Business Analysts
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree is required, with preference to business fields such as Finance, Accounting, or Economics, and technical areas such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
• Proven experience of 8 to 12 years in the financial services industry.
• A “Student of the Markets” mentality: Intellectually curious with a passion for learning about the global financial markets and the investment management business.
• Candidate must possess and demonstrate strong understanding of financial markets, equity markets in particular
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
• Knowledge of SQL, UNIX, Python would be a plus; desire to expand technical expertise preferred.
• Candidates with experience in managing & curating Fundamental Data, Market Data, Income Statement Data, ESG Data will be preferred
• Understanding of SEC 10K and equivalent filings is desirable
• Experience with Equity & Fixed Income data feeds provided by Refinitiv/ Bloomberg/ Factset/ ICE is highly desirable
• Candidates with prior experience with leading Index providers will be preferred
