Job Purpose:
Tariff Data Analyst is to manage and maintain accurate, consistent, and reliable port tariff master data by defining data standards, ensuring data quality and integrity, and resolving data issues through analysis and cleansing, enabling effective and trusted tariff calculations across the organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Collect and interpret global port tariff data from ports, vendors, and service providers.
- Analyse and model tariff structures to accurately translate complex charging rules into calculation logic.
- Build, validate, and maintain tariff calculation logic within the Port Tariff Calculator, ensuring alignment with real world port charging practices.
- Perform structured data quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, auditability, and version control.
- Maintain clear documentation of data sources, assumptions, and calculation methodologies.
- Manage high volume tariff workloads across multiple global ports while maintaining quality and pace.
- Collaborate with internal teams to clarify requirements and ensure tariff data meets operational, digital, and compliance standards.
- Identify recurring issues and opportunities for standardisation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to data integrity, security, and compliance policies at all times.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Essential:
- Strong analytical capability with experience in structured data, pricing, tariffs, or cost models.
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to quickly learn bespoke calculation tools.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and validation.
- Confident communicator, able to engage professionally with global external stakeholders.
- Proven problem solver, comfortable interpreting complex or ambiguous tariff structures.
- Ability to manage high volume workloads at pace without compromising quality.
- Experience with IT, data, or business intelligence tools.
- Exposure to port operations, logistics, or maritime services would be desirable.
Education, and Professional Qualifications:
Essential:
- Degree of equivalent
Desirable:
- STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
- 3-4 years of experience, SQL and advance excel
