As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Tech Controls team, your role will involve utilizing both creative and critical thinking to address challenges related to the protection of JPMorgan Chase's products and applications. You will collaborate on a range of initiatives, leveraging your analytical skills to support and manage critical applications. Exposure to production management and software development life cycles will be a key part of your role. Your responsibilities will also include documenting, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues that affect customers, while simultaneously identifying opportunities for process improvement. Your development skills will be put to use in contributing to modernization projects. Effective communication will be crucial as you will be working closely with your peers, cross-functional teams, and teams outside of the Cybersecurity & Tech Controls division. This role offers the opportunity for professional development within this area or in the various other areas that the Cybersecurity & Tech Controls division has to offer.
Job responsibilities
- Develop solutions to automate manual & operational task
- Develop tools and visualization to understand our customer experience and their product interaction
- Manage performance, incident & change management, telemetry, and capacity management of their services
- Engage with the engineering team throughout the product/application life cycle to help build for reliability
- Take part in root cause analysis and post-mortem to identify and eliminate gaps and improve service
- Analyze usage and telemetry data to identify patterns to predict and prevent failure
- Primarily day shift with occasional weekend support as part of the shift rotation. Part of the global team who provide 24x7x365 coverage.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Infrastructure engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Hands on of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
- Experience with any of high-level programing language such as Java, JavaScript, Python, shell scripting etc.
- Experience with Agile and full software development life cycle.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline and testing framework.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiar with system administration in Linux and/or Windows platforms
- Familiar in supporting End-User issues via ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira)
- Public Cloud offering related to compute, storage, networking, messaging, automation (CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.) and data will be beneficial (AWS preferred)
