Department OverviewThe Video Embedded Software Engineering Team at Motorola Solutions (MSI) delivers firmware for embedded devices such as in-car video systems, fixed video and body worn cameras. Working in close collaboration with other departments, engineers in this team excel at developing applications and drivers under Linux, and have a variety of backgrounds and specializations. The team uses modern C++ to develop highly reusable code, and utilize state-of-the-art systems and tools throughout the development life cycle.
Job Description
As an Intern QA Engineer, you will be involved in testing and scripting the test cases of highly sophisticated surveillance cameras for professional and mission critical markets in the commercial, government and industrial segments. The Video Security & Access Controls (VS&AC) division designs, develops and manufactures advanced AI Video Analytics, network video management, software and hardware, surveillance cameras and access control solutions that help change the way people interact with their security systems.
Responsibilities Include :
Translate requirements and specifications into manual/automated test cases.
Develop, execute, and maintain robust automated test scripts using Python to ensure software quality and reliability.
Collaborate with firmware developers in troubleshooting and investigating the firmware issues reported. This includes reproducing on various firmware versions and other camera products besides performing 1st level triaging to determine the root cause of the issues.
Collaborate and work as a Team with other QA Engineers to complete the tasks assigned.
Report and Validate issues/bugs encountered during testing.
Interface with key internal partners (such as other QA Teams residing in other sites).
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
Experience in Phyton scripting
Experience in performing firmware testing using Agile methodology
Knowledge in Embedded System is a plus
Strong analytical skills
Familiar with Agile Methodology
Able to Start in Dec 2025 or January 2026
