IT Quality Senior Analyst - Assistant Vice President

Citi is looking for a Senior IT Quality Analyst to lead quality assurance across complex trading platform environments, ensuring that software meets the highest standards before reaching production. In this role, you will own UAT processes, drive test automation strategy, and serve as a senior quality voice across cross-functional technology teams. Your work will directly influence the reliability and integrity of systems that support Futures and Options trading on a global scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead User Acceptance Testing initiatives for trading platform products, translating complex business requirements into structured test strategies and ensuring seamless rollout to production.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and scenarios using Java and Cucumber (BDD), improving test coverage and reducing time-to-market for critical system releases.
• Monitor software products and development processes for conformance to quality standards, identify risks and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance across the software development lifecycle.
• Conduct root cause analyses on quality failures, document findings with precision, and independently recommend process improvements that elevate team-wide quality outcomes.
• Analyze complex trade data — including order types and execution flows — to validate system behavior and ensure alignment with FIX protocol and electronic trading regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate test strategy development and execution across project teams, global stakeholders, and third-party vendors, ensuring consistent delivery against timelines and quality benchmarks.
• Gather, maintain, and report on quality metrics to provide leadership and project teams with clear visibility into testing progress, defect trends, and risk posture.
• Mentor and coach junior quality analysts, sharing technical expertise and contributing to the team's overall development.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 10 or more years of experience in an IT Quality or software quality assurance role, with demonstrated ownership across the full testing lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience testing trading platforms, with a solid understanding of Futures and Options products, order types, and electronic trading processes.
• Proficiency in test automation using Java and Behavior-Driven Development frameworks, specifically Cucumber, with the ability to write, modify, and execute complex automated test scripts.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, container environments (ECS), and version control using GitHub, enabling integration of quality practices into modern delivery workflows.
• Good understanding of the FIX protocol, regulatory obligations for electronic trading, and the ability to validate system behavior against these standards.
• Ability to write complex queries and work with reporting tools to analyses large volumes of trade and system data effectively.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across project teams, vendors, and global counterparts to align on quality outcomes.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

• Project management experience, with the ability to plan, track, and communicate quality workstreams within fast-paced, time-sensitive delivery programmes.
• Experience defining and documenting business requirements, bridging the gap between technology teams and business stakeholders to ensure test coverage reflects real-world use cases.
• Prior involvement in vendor management, including coordinating quality activities and testing accountability across third-party technology providers.

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
