Job Title: Junior Accountant
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and reliable Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support daily accounting operations, assist with financial reporting, and maintain accurate financial records. You will work closely with senior accountants and auditors to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including GST, PF, and ESIC filings. This position is ideal for candidates with a solid grounding in CA (Chartered Accountancy) fundamentals and a passion for developing a long-term career in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accuracy in entries.
- Maintain accounts payable and receivable; process vendor payments and customer invoices.
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, MIS reports, and tax filings.
- Handle GST filings, input reconciliation, and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws.
- Manage PF and ESIC filings in coordination with HR and finance teams.
- Assist in audit preparations and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records for all accounting activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance roles.
- Strong understanding of CA basics — including double-entry principles, journal entries, and trial balance preparation.
- Practical knowledge of GST filing processes, PF and ESIC compliance, and TDS deduction.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or Tally.
- Good understanding of financial statements, ledgers, and general accounting standards (IND-AS).
- Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a 2 PM – 10 PM shift (night shift).
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to audit processes.
- Working knowledge of income tax filings and compliance management.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
