The Lead Application Developer Engineer (IC4) will architect, develop, and optimize high-throughput grid-computing applications utilizing DataSynapse GridServer. This role is vital to ensuring our platform maintains ultra-low latency, maximum resource utilization, and flawless stability for mission-critical operations. Day-to-day, the successful candidate will write high-performance code, lead technical deep-dives into grid bottlenecks, and define best practices for distributed workload management.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesDeliverables: Design, implement, and deploy scalable application components integrated with DataSynapse GridServer.
Goals: Optimize grid resource utilization and minimize task execution latency across the distributed cluster.
Investigation: Troubleshoot complex distributed system bottlenecks, memory leaks, and network overhead issues.
Strategy: Drive the technical strategy for grid-application modernization and cloud-bursting capabilities.
Collaboration: Provide technical documentation and telemetry data to inform DevSecOps and Infrastructure teams of capacity needs.
Impact: Ensure uninterrupted system availability and optimal processing performance for external clients.
Accomplishments: Proven track record of tuning and scaling enterprise distributed systems or high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
Experience: 8+ years in software engineering with 2+ years leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
Industry: Background in enterprise software environments like FinTech, telecommunications, or large-scale SaaS.
Tools: Deep hands-on development expertise with DataSynapse GridServer (or similar compute grids like IBM Symphony) and strong proficiency in Java or C++.
Skills in Linux systems administration, network programming, or performance profiling tools (e.g., JProfiler).
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes.
Experience navigating technical architecture within a matrixed enterprise undergoing cloud transformation.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical enterprise-scale experience.
