JOB OVERVIEW:
Boku’s Business Intelligence Team is expanding, and we are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join us. BI works directly with stakeholders to provide data-driven analysis, insights, and optimization suggestions. This role will collaborate as part of a cross-functional team with Commercial, Technical Project Management, Operations, and Customer Success to provide best-in-class analytics. This is a high visibility, client-facing role with the ability to make an impact on our business.
OBJECTIVES:
- Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex data sets
- Meet our stakeholder’s analytical needs by distilling data into actionable insights
- Regularly present to internal and external stakeholders on KPIs
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs
- Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity
- Analyze dashboards and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decision-making and improve business growth
- Present insights and findings to internal and external stakeholders
- Partner with stakeholders to lead metrics definition, reporting and analyses
- Partner with data engineers to establish data assets and feature stores for process automation, advanced analytics, and machine learning model
- Partner with Business Intelligence developers to create dashboards
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7+ years experience mining data as a data analyst
- Proven analytical skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues and analyses
- Skilled in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with partners
- Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations
- Experience presenting findings and implications / recommendations to senior business stakeholders, using data to tell a compelling story
- Excellent SQL and Excel skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools
- Well-versed in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation
- Experienced self-starter with a problem-solving focus, an analytical mindset, and extreme attention to detail
- Proficient in written and spoken English in a business setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- SQL skills to get the data you need from a data warehouse (e.g., Redshift, Hive, SparkSQL, Athena) and perform data segmentation and aggregation from scratch
- Experience with data visualization software (preferably Tableau)
