Responsibilities
- Conduct design feasibility analysis of Class A surface.
- Create concept 3D models considering manufacturing constraints and mass production feasibility.
- Lead internal design and engineering reviews, ensuring alignment with OEM standards.
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings while considering DFMEA, GD&T, and tolerance stack analysis.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including suppliers and OEMs, to address technical concerns.
- Ensure designs comply with pedestrian safety, NVH requirements, and crash test standards.
- Benchmark and integrate best-in-class industry practices for bumper design and development.
- Collaborate with global teams for effective project execution and timely milestone delivery.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of experience in automotive exterior plastic component design, with a focus on bumpers.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5/3DExperience for solid and surface modeling, drafting, and 3D maturation.
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling feasibility, and assembly constraints.
- Understanding of product development milestones and automotive regulatory requirements.
- Expertise in GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up Analysis, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) for reporting and documentation.
