Role Description
Engineer is responsible for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and administration. It may also involve taking functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments. Work includes: •Planning and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals •Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle •Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions •Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow •Reviewing engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability •Participating in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative technologies, tools and solutions in the Bank.

Your key responsibilities
- Determining, creating, and implementing internal process improvements, such as redesigning infrastructure for increased scalability, improving data delivery, and automating manual procedures.
- Building necessary infrastructure using GCP, ORACLE and SQL technologies. This will enable effective data extraction, transformation, and loading from a variety of data sources.
- Reformulating existing frameworks to maximize their functioning.
- Building analytical tools that make use of the data flow and offer a practical understanding of crucial company performance indicators like operational effectiveness and customer acquisition.
- Helping stakeholders, including the data, design, product, and executive teams, with technical data difficulties.
- Working on data-related technical challenges while collaborating with stakeholders, including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams, to support their data infrastructure needs.
- Remaining up-to-date with developments in technology and industry norms can help you to produce higher-quality results.
Your skills and experience
- 15+ years of experience with Oracle Database Administration, PL/SQL, Backup / Recovery / High-Availability Solution Experience and Performance Tuning.
- Architecturally minded with an ability to simplify complex activities with in-depth professional experience in Data Mesh, Data Pipeline, Data modeling, Database Design, application, SQL performance tuning skills with knowledge of Oracle internals
- Knows all facets of software development (including design patterns, modelling, modern software trends, frameworks and methods including agile)
- Strong technical background, ideally few years' experiences as Solution Architect and with good relationships within the Architecture Community to get a better understand of the dependencies with other applications, central solutions, tools etc.
- An organized self-starter able to manage in a complex environment and a team player who continually collaborates and shares information
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage the Audit/SII closure process with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues.
- Demonstrate the ability to influence, change and shape the direction of a particular activity, either internally and/or externally.
- Coach and stimulate more junior profiles in view of the right achievements and personal development.
- Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Experience in Java, Python, Spark and Unix would be added advantage.
