Role Description
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced QA Automation Engineer to drive the quality assurance strategy and execution for the GFCIU project. In this role, you will define testing approaches, build automation scripts, and ensure the delivery of high‑quality automation solutions that support the AFC department’s mission to combat financial crime.

Your key responsibilities
- Drive automation testing efforts while supporting limited manual testing as required
- Design, develop, and maintain reusable components for test plans, test cases, data, schedules, and automation scripts
- Create and enhance test automation frameworks tailored to project needs
- Prepare and execute automated test scripts, ensuring accurate reporting of results
- Publish testing schedules, execution reports, and defect metrics to stakeholders
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Functional Analysts, and stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements
- Retest defect fixes and validate resolutions
- Analyze, document, and communicate test results clearly
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users and partner systems
- Provide insights and data to support evidence‑based decision‑making
- Mentor team of QA developers as needed
Your skills and experience
Automation & Framework Expertise
- Strong experience with automation framework architectures and design patterns
- Proficiency in Spring, Maven/Gradle, and Cucumber BDD
- Hands‑on expertise with Core Java 8, Selenium/Selenide, and JavaScript for debugging and refactoring
- Experience with NodeJS and Protractor for end‑to‑end testing
Testing & Tools
- Solid understanding of automation, manual testing, and software QA principles
- Experience with RESTful API testing using tools such as Postman or REST Assured
- Strong SQL and BigQuery skills for data validation and analysis
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as HP ALM and JIRA
- Thorough understanding of testing across the entire SDLC
DevOps & Agile
- Experience working in Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD environments
- Familiarity with CI tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and GCP DevOps
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to proactively build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
