Lead QA Automation Engineer

Position Title: QA Automation Engineer
The Area: The Morningstar Indexes Team leverages its expertise in equity research, manager research, asset allocation, and portfolio construction to create innovative investment solutions. It uses Morningstar's intellectual property to create indexes that empower investors to achieve their goals at every stage of the investment process-market monitoring, benchmarking, and asset allocation. The unit offers a broad suite of global equity, bond, commodity and asset allocation indexes.
The Role: In this role, you will work as a QA Automation Engineer, collaborate with technology and business team to build technology solutions for Morningstar`s Indexes applications. You should have understanding of test automation frameworks and tools. You should automate existing applications, study their enterprise complexities and develop/implement better systems with modern testing automation practices.
Responsibilities -• Lead QA Activities across the squads.• Define and establish automation strategy and process• Understand the Indexes applications and come up with the automation testing framework• Should understand the requirement, design and develop the automation test cases• Take ownership of QA requirements and provide testing guidance to the technology team• Should also work as Individual Contributor• Lead and coordinate the application enhancement and tech ops testing activities with technology and business teams• Participate in team communication and collaborate in planning activities, including stand-ups, iteration planning meetings (IPM), and retrospectives.• Manage and communicate regular updates on project status (e.g., work completed, work in progress, next steps, risks, quality, KPIs, and costs) to stakeholders, peers, Product managers, and others.• Lead the team of QA and work across multiple squads
Requirements - These are the most important skills, qualities, etc. that we'd like for this role.• Overall experience of 9 to 12 years in Quality Assurance and Testing with hands on experience of 6-7 years in Automation• Strong experience in Automated Testing of Enterprise Class and Financial application and web portals• Expert in UI Automation using tools like Selenium web driver, Nightwatch & Automation framework development with HANDS-ON• Used Java and Javascipt as programming language• Good experience in JavaScript libraries JQuery, Ember, Angular• Expert in API testing (manual and automation) using Rest Assured frameworks and Ready API• Exposure and know-how of performance testing and security testing tools• Knowledge of AWS / Cloud would be a plus• Strong on QA Methodologies, concepts and best practices• Should be a strong individual contributor and also a good team player with team leading capabilities• Good understanding of different Servers and Operating System components• Good understanding of OOPs, Design Patterns, Development standards, best practices• Should be self-driven engineer with desire to use practical and professional concepts in QA along with application of QA standards and procedures to resolve routine issues• Should be able to write use cases based on product requirements, execute them and report issues in bug tracking system• Good experience in Agile methodology (Scrum model). Actively participated in scrum meetings like - daily standup, sprint planning, spring review, design discussions, client Demo• Should be self starter, lead and self contributing the QA team to build robust and flexible Automated Testing Framework• Helps QA community to learn Automation, impart necessary technical knowledge• Works cohesively with team members in pursuit of team & project goals. Participates in group activities within the team. Builds stable working relationships internally.
