About the team :
The Credit Bureau team is at the forefront of how Capital One builds and deploys responsible Agentic frameworks for resolving disputes, fraud and other complaints. Right now agents on the field build the SOP for resolving disputes and we resolve those manually. We have the scope and opportunity to build Agentic solutions to scale our platform and flight a $10M profit , but the challenge is in building high accuracy agentic frameworks with 99.9% accuracy metrics. We onboard and educate associates on the Data, GenAI and ML platforms and products that the whole company uses; we drive new innovation and research; and we're working to seamlessly infuse Generative AI and ML into the fabric of the company. The AI experience we're creating is the foundation upon which our lines of business will continue to deliver next-generation machine learning-driven products and services for our customers.

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack who is passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Lead Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.
What You'll Do:

• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.
• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community
• Utilize various programming languages, Open Source technologies, Relational/NoSQL databases, Containers and a variety of AWS tools and services with a special focus on Serverless initiatives
• Implement software in unambiguous and uncomplicated domains with little to no support, while effectively combining standards and practices to implement more complex software.
• Implement a new, fully featured local build and deployment pipeline, while identifying improvements and making enhancements to established deployment pipelines
• Familiarity with many modern application architecture and design patterns, with the ability to leverage them in moderately complex domains.
• Teach others architecture and design patterns and how and when to apply them
• Debug moderately complex issues across backend, frontend, middleware, infrastructure, databases and pipelines across all environments from local to production and across distributed systems.
• Partner with product and design teams to develop and integrate advanced features to the platform.
• Develop features to enhance the overall user experience with little to no direction, knowing what non functionals to address and how.
• Deploy on the cloud and build production systems with observability.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with Engineering or Computer Science.
• At least 8 years of experience building back-end services (Including but not limited to: Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, Node, Scala, TypeScript, Spring Boot).
• At least 6 years of experience with database technology (Including but not limited to: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• At least 4 years of experience designing and building data intensive solutions using distributed computing and knowledge of event-driven development.
• At least 4 years of experience in building SDKs, in-depth understanding of OOPs concept and building packages, libraries for downstream consumption.
• At least 4 years of experience developing and deploying Applications and Agentic solutions in a public cloud such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience in Agile or Kanban software development methodologies and Agile software development.
• 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing strategic projects.
• 3+ years with deploying cloud solutions using AWS lambda, AuroraDB, DynamoDB, Bedrock or GCP or Azure equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in Machine Learning Ops either using open source tools like Machine Learning Flow or commercial tools.
• 3+ years of experience building production-ready capabilities for large scale platforms.
• Hands-on implementation of responsible AI, building solution for guard rails, model explainability, fairness and governance.
• Exposure to Generative AI application and familiarity with open source or commercial LLMs, and some experience in latest open source libraries such as LangChain, haystack and vector databases like open search, chroma and FAISS.
