As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking - Global Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
  • Participates in, design and develop scalable and resilient systems using Java or Python to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces or contributes to architecture and design artifacts for applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, security and operational stability
  • Advanced proficiency in React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, as well as experience with testing frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of lower-level design principles in JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience in optimizing JavaScript compilation for scalability and versatility, as well as building command-line interfaces (CLI), is essential.
  • Strong background in one or more backend programming languages such as Java, Python, or NodeJS is also required.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Practical cloud native experience with AWS services, like ECS, Fargate, SNS, SQS, and RDS Postgres
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, security scans and automation tools.
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and design patterns such as micro frontends
  • AWS Certification(s) (Associate or above)
