The Lead Test Engineer will design and maintain automation frameworks, conduct testing, manage defects, and mentor junior team members while ensuring quality practices are upheld.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Owners, Developers, and stakeholders to analyze requirements and define comprehensive test strategies.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
- Build and execute automated test suites covering smoke, sanity, regression, and end-to-end scenarios.
- Perform exploratory testing for new features and high-risk areas to identify edge cases.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback.
- Manage the complete defect lifecycle including logging, triaging, prioritization, and validation.
- Implement test data management strategies including automated data setup and environment control.
- Leverage mocking, stubbing, and service virtualization to ensure stable and isolated test environments.
- Continuously enhance test coverage, execution efficiency, and reporting mechanisms.
- Contribute to QA best practices, standards, and process improvements across the team.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and drive a quality-first mindset within the team.
Experience & Qualifications
- 8–10 years of overall experience in Quality Assurance.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in test automation.
- At least 3 years of experience in API automation.
- Proven experience in building automation frameworks from scratch and scaling them.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Must-Have Skills
- Strong expertise in Playwright with TypeScript for UI automation.
- Solid experience in API automation and validation using modern tools/frameworks.
- Deep understanding of automation framework design patterns (POM, modular, reusable components).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, including pipeline integration and test orchestration.
- Experience with response mocking, service virtualization, and stubbing techniques.
- Strong knowledge of test data management and automated test data setup.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies, SDLC, and QA best practices.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Working knowledge of version control systems (Git).
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with other CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Exposure to AI-driven QA tools and intelligent test automation practices.
- Experience in e-commerce domain.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-based test environments.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).
- Experience with test reporting and quality tools (e.g., Allure, SonarQube).
- Prior experience in fast-paced, continuous delivery environments.
