Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating installs and upgrades of existing CAT tools and other localization products.
- Gathering and understanding client requirements and using them to craft solutions, including setting up specific environments and tools for localization.
- Assisting clients to language enable their content management systems.
- Supporting production team with identifying and extracting localizable content from complex formats not suitable for translation.
- Collaborating with internal teams to implement and maintain appropriate project-specific procedures, solutions, checklists and instructions.
- Collaborating with internal teams to initiate, document and implement procedural changes and customized workflows, as well as new engineering processes
- Supporting the resolutions of technical questions and issues in a timely and effective manner for clients and internal teams, particularly for memoQ but not exclusively.
- Identifying tool/resource requirements.
- Managing Translation Memories.
- Automating asset transfer from and to customers portals.
- Troubleshooting issues coming from production, originating from translation process.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of MemoQ and / or other similar CAT Tools.
- Excellent knowledge of business software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Good knowledge of ASP, HTML, XML, parsing, validation, tag error fixing
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience with scripting and regular expressions.
- Knowledge of multilingual localization issues and procedures (managing characters set and encoding, text direction, text strings sorting and handling) is welcome.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Perl, Python) is welcome.
- Knowledge of internationalization standards is welcome.
- Knowledge of Machine Translation is a plus.
- Good organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Keeps a can do attitude and positive thinking.
