Role Name: Automation Solutions Manager / Service Delivery Manager
Purpose: To achieve operational excellence and ensure efficient IT service delivery within the Enterprise Automation team.
Enterprise Automation Solutions Manager Role Overview:
The Enterprise Automation Solutions Manager is pivotal in executing Automation initiatives aligned with organizational goals. This role oversees the complete delivery of Automations, ensuring they are timely, high-quality, and cost-effective. Managing multiple development and support squads using diverse Automation technologies, the manager supports stakeholders enterprise-wide, fostering a collaborative work environment to boost productivity and innovation.
A key responsibility is ensuring end-to-end delivery accountability, coordinating with non- Automation teams like SAP, Salesforce, Command Center, and Esker, to ensure their contributions align with project goals. As the main liaison between business units and Automation teams, the manager ensures solutions meet organizational needs and identifies opportunities for process optimization to drive efficiency.
The role involves building robust, efficient bots and Automation solutions, adhering to best practices to minimize failures and enhance reliability. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to foster collaboration are essential. The manager integrates technology expertise with an understanding of business objectives, working closely with Business Analysts, Architects, Platform teams, and external vendors to ensure seamless, impactful Automation initiatives.
Additionally, the manager acts as a change advocate, promoting innovative practices and new ways of working across teams and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivery Management: Ensure that the team oversees the smooth functioning of Automation initiatives, aligning them with organizational goals to achieve operational excellence. Guide the team in optimizing resource allocation through effective macro and micro proactive capacity planning. Foster the building of robust, efficient BOTs and the improvement of BOT cycle time to enhance efficiency. Ensure the team conducts thorough regression testing to maintain quality and reliability. Regularly appraise leadership on project status and potential risks.
  • Production Support: Ensure the team leads incident management processes to swiftly resolve issues and minimize disruptions. Facilitate strong proactive communication and collaboration within the team to ensure alignment and swift resolution. Guide the team in assessing changes and impacts from other teams to effectively mitigate risks. Keep stakeholders informed about any significant issues and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Strategic Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and stakeholders to integrate solutions and keep the Operations team informed of enterprise changes. Serve as the central liaison between business units and the Automation team, engaging deeply with business units to understand the purpose and objectives behind Automation requests. Ensure transparency and alignment on project goals and progress, designing solutions that meet business goals and deliver measurable value. Provide regular status updates and reports to senior leadership on regular developments and outcomes.
  • End-to-End Project Delivery and Quality Assurance: Oversee the comprehensive planning, execution, and delivery of Automation projects, ensuring strategic alignment and timely completion. Establish quality standards and enforce best practices to maintain high reliability and performance.
  • Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement: Monitor system health and generate performance reports to assess operational efficiency and ROI. Drive continuous improvements in processes and practices to enhance innovation and efficiency.
  • Risk and Vendor Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks early, coordinating with stakeholders on strategies. Ensure proactive communication to leadership and stakeholders with risk mitigation plans. Manage external vendors to ensure their contributions meet project objectives and quality expectations.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead development and production support squads, fostering collaboration and high performance. Mentor team members to enhance skills and support career progression.
  • Customer-Focused Service Mindset: Cultivate a customer-centric approach, ensuring Automation solutions deliver exceptional value and meet stakeholder needs.

Mandatory Experience:
  • 12 years in IT service delivery or operations management or leadership roles.
  • 7-9 years in Automation delivery and operations management.
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management experience.

Reports To: Director of IT Innovation Automations

WORK EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Ensure smooth automation initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead incident management for quick issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align automation projects with business objectives.
  • Oversee planning and delivery of automation projects while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor system performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proactively manage risks and vendor contributions to meet project goals.
  • Lead and mentor teams for high performance and skill development.
  • Foster a customer-centric approach in delivering automation solutions.
