The Manager, IT is responsible for leading and managing a team of Infrastructure Engineers, with a focus on ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of the company's services and infrastructure. This role involves a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration to meet the organization's reliability and availability goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Infrastructure Engineers, providing guidance and support in their daily work. Set clear performance goals and expectations for the team and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Lead the design and implementation of AWS cloud infrastructure solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Develop and implement strategies for both on-premises and AWS cloud environments.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of AWS cloud services and related software.
- Manage AWS resources such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and IAM.
- Monitor cloud system performance and conduct regular performance tuning to ensure optimal operation using CloudWatch
- Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions in the cloud.
- Incident Management: Develop and maintain an incident response plan to minimize downtime and service disruptions. Lead the team in responding to and resolving critical incidents, ensuring post-incident reviews to prevent future occurrences.
- Monitoring And Alerting: Implement and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address performance and reliability issues. Continuously refine alerting thresholds to minimize false alarms and maintain service reliability.
- Automation And Tooling: Drive the automation of operational tasks, such as deployment, configuration management, and scaling, to improve system reliability and efficiency. Evaluate, implement, and maintain appropriate tools for monitoring, logging, and incident management.
- Manage the integration and migration of on-premises infrastructure to AWS cloud.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex cloud system issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the team and other departments.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Generate regular reports on system performance, security, and compliance.
- Manage relationships with vendors and evaluate new products and services.
- Ability to adapt and knowledge to of hybrid environments (On prem & cloud).
- Coordination and follow up with Multiple Vendors like MS, Dell etc.
- Manage and administer Office 365 tenants, including user provisioning, license management, health, performance, security and access controls.
- Configure and troubleshoot Exchange Online, including mail flow, mailbox migrations, and security features.
- Support and troubleshoot Office 365 applications and Outlook issues; stay updated with the latest features and updates.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Office 365 services with on-premises systems and other applications.
- Implemented and managed Microsoft Intune for device management, including deployment, configuration, and policy enforcement.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, computer science, or another related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- At least three (total experience of 10-15) years of experience directly related to the essential duties and responsibilities specified.
- Proficiency in system administration and cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- A background in healthcare and healthcare technology is highly preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Intermediate to Expert level of knowledge of AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM).
- Extensive experience with Cloud integration and migration (On-prem to AWS)
- Excellent technical, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and project management abilities.
- Understanding ITIL processes and best practices is a must.
- Well versed with Windows and Linux administration.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Associate/Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
- Working experience of infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef).
- Implementation experience of CloudWatch, IAM, CloudTrail, AWS System manager, Security is mandatory, keeping observability in mind.
- In-depth understanding of Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Intune, and Teams
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Arc, Defender, Intune, Data dog and best practices and emerging trends in identity governance and administration.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- While at work, this position is primarily a sedentary job and requires that the associate can work in an environment where they will consistently be seated for the majority of the workday
- This role requires that one can sit and regularly type on a keyboard for the majority of the workday
- This position requires the ability to observe a computer screen for long periods of time to observe their own and others’ work, as well as incoming and out-going communications via the computer and/or mobile devices
- Must be able to work remotely, manage workload efficiently, prioritize projects with minimal supervision, and maintain a quiet setting while working with customers
- The role necessitates the ability to listen and speak clearly to customers and other associates
