About the Role:

As a Manager in Software Engineering, you will lead a team of software engineers responsible for the development, implementation, and enhancement of commercial software products. You will oversee both desktop and browser-based applications, including thick client solutions, Angular-based platforms, and cloud-native systems on Azure. You will also guide the integration of AI capabilities into products where applicable.

This role demands strong technical leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration to meet aggressive delivery timelines. You will be accountable for the performance and results of your team, ensuring that software solutions are innovative, reliable, and scalable.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a high-performing team of software engineers across diverse technology stacks.
  • Provide expert guidance in solving complex technical challenges across desktop, web, and cloud platforms.
  • Drive development of thick client applications (e.g., WinForms, WPF, Electron) and Angular-based web applications.
  • Oversee integration of AI/ML capabilities in collaboration with data science/intelligence teams.
  • Manage cloud-native development and deployment using Microsoft Azure services.
  • Ensure adherence to software engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborate effectively in a matrixed organization with senior management, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, mentoring, and coaching of team members.
  • Plan and allocate resources efficiently to meet project timelines and business objectives.
  • Monitor development processes, framework adoption, and project progress to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Facilitate seamless integration and successful product launches through cross-team collaboration.

Technical Skills:

  • Thick Client Development: Experience with desktop applications WPF.
  • Web Technologies: Strong expertise in Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and RESTful APIs, WCF.
  • Cloud Computing: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, DevOps, Storage, etc.).
  • Containerization: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for packaging, deploying, and scaling applications.
  • Database Management: Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), including schema design, performance tuning, and data security.
  • AI Integration: Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and ability to guide integration into software products.
  • DevOps & CI/CD: Proficiency in automation, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines.
  • Frameworks: Deep understanding of software development frameworks and their practical application.
  • Automation: Experience with test automation tools and strategies.
  • API Design & Management: Strong understanding of API architecture, security, and documentation.
  • Agile Methodologies: Proven ability to lead teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
