Job responsibilities
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
- Proven experience leading teams of technologists, with a strong ability to guide, coach, and motivate teams to achieve goals aligned with strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale technology transformation projects involving distributed processing.
- Track record of hiring, developing, and recognizing top talent within technical teams.
- Advanced proficiency and in Java/Python.
- Practical experience working with Spark or similar technologies.
- Experience in cloud technologies, particularly AWS and Databricks.
- Expertise in Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines

- Experience working at code level
