About the Role:
As part of the Sports Strategy & Business Development team, you will play a key role in driving growth across Jiostar’s Sports portfolio and Star Sports distribution strategy. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and attention to detail. You will be responsible for evaluating new business opportunities, shaping distribution strategy and driving data-led insights to strengthen JioStar’s leadership in sports broadcasting.
Key Responsibilities
- Build business cases and financial models for acquisition of sporting property acquisitions by analysing viewership trends, monetization scenarios, and shifts in sporting culture and media ecosystem
- Conduct market research, synthesize unstructured data, and develop business cases and strategy documents to aide decision making for the business.
- Continuously monitor shifts in the sports media landscape to identify emerging monetization opportunities and recommend strategic pivots.
- Partner with Programming and Analytics teams to identify viewership trends across TV and Digital platforms, and drive data-backed strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with Distribution, Finance, Programming, and Marketing teams to define effective go-to-market and monetization strategies for the Star Sports network.
- Develop and own dashboards and intelligence reports on viewership, reach, and channel availability to generate actionable insights for the business.
- Work closely with the TV Distribution function to identify growth opportunities with key DTH and cable partners.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in consulting, business strategy, or BD roles within the sports, media, or entertainment ecosystem.
- Background in consulting/analytics firms, broadcasters, or sports marketing agencies preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to distill complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
- Familiarity with the sports media rights and TV distribution landscape is an advantage.
