About this role

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leaders to manage a large-scale operations team of 150+ professionals across key functions including Controllers, Middle Office, and Client Services. This role spans all strategies within BlackRock private markets, requiring a seasoned leader with deep operational expertise, cross-functional collaboration skills, ability to connect local leadership and process to global functional alignment, and a strong commitment to talent development and organizational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations across Controllers, Middle Office, and Client Services functions.

  • Ensure accurate and timely deliverables through monitoring and engagement

  • Drive operational excellence and process optimization across the team.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead and execute cross-functional initiatives that align with broader business goals.

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across investment, finance, technology, and compliance teams as well as global and regional leadership.

  • Serve as a key escalation point for complex operational issues and client concerns.

Talent Management

  • Build and nurture a high-performing team culture focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, and succession strategies.

  • Champion learning and development programs to upskill talent and foster career growth.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a senior representative for stakeholder interactions, ensuring exceptional service delivery and relationship management.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve escalations and drive client satisfaction.

Governance & Risk Oversight

  • Maintain strong controls and governance frameworks to mitigate operational risk.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (18+ years) leading large teams, private markets experience preferred

  • Deep understanding of operational processes and organizational management

  • Strong strategic thinking and execution capabilities

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives and change management.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CAIA) preferred

Our hybrid work model
