OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE :
- Lead the major incident management team and ensure efficient handling of all major incidents.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.
- Optimize resource allocation during major incidents, ensuring that the necessary personnel and tools are available to address the incident promptly.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure efficient handling of all major incidents by providing guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive shift schedules to ensure optimal team coverage and resource allocation.
- Ensure that the necessary personnel and tools are available to address incidents promptly.
- Equip the major incident management team with the skills and knowledge required for effective incident resolution.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews and implement lessons learned in future strategies and processes for continuous improvement.
- Manage escalations requiring higher-level attention to ensure swift and suitable resolution actions.
- Act as the communication bridge between IT support teams, management, and stakeholders during a major incident.
- Ensure that incident resolution actions are progressing and align with timelines.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Education
- A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- ITIL certification is required
Competencies and Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Major Incident Management
- Proficiency in managing major incidents and coordinating resolution efforts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and updates to stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess incidents and determine appropriate actions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and technical teams to resolve incidents.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and communication.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships within the company to facilitate quick resolution by engaging the right teams.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and service management processes.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT service management tools.
