The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement integration solutions using IBM MQ, REST APIs, and event-driven patterns.
• Lead application migration efforts from legacy platforms (e.g., AS/400, mainframe, HP Tandem, on-prem ERP) to cloud-native environments.
• Design and document integration flows, message schemas, and middleware configurations.
• Collaborate with application, data, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless connectivity and interoperability.
• Define and enforce integration standards, security protocols, and performance benchmarks.
• Evaluate and recommend tools for messaging, transformation, and orchestration (e.g., IBM App Connect, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services).
• Troubleshoot complex integration issues and optimize message throughput and reliability.
• Support DevOps teams in CI/CD pipeline integration for messaging components.
• Mentor developers and junior architects on integration best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in enterprise integration architecture.
• Hands-on expertise with IBM MQ (configuration, clustering, security, monitoring).
• Strong understanding of application migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid integration models.
• Proficiency in messaging protocols (JMS, AMQP), API design, and service-oriented architecture.
• Familiarity with ETL tools, data lakes, and real-time streaming (Kafka, Azure Event Hub).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in IBM MQ, cloud architecture, or integration platforms.
• Experience with different Integration patterns, legacy modernization
• Experience in designing scalable and secure integration architectures across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices integration.
