POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Oracle Apps Database Administrator will have primary responsibility for the operation of Oracle Business Suite 11.5.x and non-Oracle Applications Oracle Databases. This role and the responsibilities of this role are critical, comprehensive, and include, but are not limited to, database server installations, Oracle Apps and Middleware technology products installations and management, schema updates, data migrations, tech upgrades, patches, user maintenance, troubleshooting, backup management, performance tuning, table space management, data recovery, and disaster recovery planning. The ideal candidate will reflect a mix of effective communication, technical proficiency, application maintenance ownership, and the ability to work effectively with other business and technology personnel and internal customers to provide very responsive support to Client Oracle Platform based application.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
•Provide Shift and non-shift support for Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle production, test and Development Instances.
•Meet service level agreements for production support response and resolution.
•Troubleshoot and tune Oracle E-Business and Non-ERP Oracle Databases. Contribute to technical performance analysis and enhancement
•Utilize Change Management controls to implement Code changes in Production and non Production instances.
•Utilize core database skills to maintain key processes like archiving, monitoring, replication, integrity and security.
•Implement and test disaster recovery plan.
•Follow documentation, software development methodology, version control and testing, and migration standards.
•Work well in a cooperative environment that fosters knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
•Thorough knowledge of Backups/Restores from Tape and Disk media
•Strong knowledge and application of ORACLE APPS Database administration tasks (patching, concurrent Managers, users and responsibilities, code promotion, index rebuilding, configuration etc)
•Linux Administration and operating system scripting skills
•Database design both logical and physical
•Strong hands-on technical knowledge of ORACLE RAC (10g,11g) architecture, Backup & recovery, database cloning, Oracle Enterprise Manager, ORACLE E-Business Suite 11i/R12, 10g Grid, LINUX 4.0 Red Hat AS or beyond
•Experience is managing large Oracle RAC based environments
Experience:
•3 years as a 24x7 Database Administrator
•2 years of experience working with ORACLE APPS
•2 years of experience supporting large enterprise-wide databases (500 GB minimum)
•2 years hands on experience with ORACLE 10g RAC,11g RAC and 10g Grid architecture
Education:
•Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
