About the role
The Patient Value Access Therapy Area Specialist (PVA TA Specialist) plays a crucial role in establishing Takeda's presence in the market by ensuring uninterrupted access to innovative treatments. This position is responsible for executing the patient value access strategy, focusing on disseminating scientific information about product attributes and their role in addressing disease burden. The PVA TA Specialist will identify trends and opportunities to broaden access for current and future Takeda products, aiming to achieve the highest standards of care.
This position involves high-quality face-to-face interactions with Health Care Practitioners (HCPs) and accounts, building trust-based relationships with stakeholders, and adhering to Takeda's Code of Conduct. The PVA TA Specialist will conduct patient-centric discussions, organize meetings with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and maximize access opportunities in both public and private sectors to improve Standards of Care (SoC).
The role requires a deep understanding of the patient journey to identify risks and opportunities, as well as mapping and engaging stakeholders in alignment with access and brand strategies. The PVA TA Specialist will collaborate closely with the Access team to implement stakeholder management plans and report progress monthly or as required. This position is based in Cairo and Upper Egypt and involves local travel to optimize stakeholder engagement.

Objectives:
  • Under the leadership of the Access to Medicine Business Unit Head, the Patient Value Access Therapy Area Specialist is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted access to Takeda's innovative treatments. The role involves disseminating value messages to stakeholders in both the private and public sectors.
  • The PVA TA Specialist is responsible for identifying trends and possibilities to broaden access for current and future Takeda products within his/her accounts, while aiming for the highest standards of care.
  • The PVA TA Specialist is responsible for the execution of business plans including activities, and the achievement of financial targets

Accountabilities
  • Execute Takeda's innovative patient value access strategy by disseminating scientific information about product attributes and showcasing their role in addressing disease burden.
  • Achieve and exceed objectives through high-quality face-to-face interactions with Health Care Practitioners (HCP) and accounts.
  • Build trust-based relationships with stakeholders, adhering to Takeda's Code of Conduct.
  • Understand the patient journey to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct patient-centric discussions and organize meetings with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and HCPs.
  • Maximize access opportunities in both public and private sectors to improve Standards of Care (SoC).
  • Map and engage stakeholders in alignment with access and brand strategies.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset by seeking feedback and implementing coaching recommendations.
  • Report daily activities as per company guidelines

Cross functional collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with the Access team to implement stakeholder management plans and report progress monthly or as required.

Required qualifications and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in health economics, medicine, economics, or a scientific field.
  • Experience in Pharm/Biotech company (3+ years) and commercial specialty care role (2+ years)
  • Proven track record in implementing innovative access programs to broaden access
  • Oncology experience required; transplant experience is advantageous.
