Job Description

INTRODUCTION:  

We are the #1 FitTech provider for businesses globally and are rapidly expanding our presence in India with a new office in Hyderabad. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to join our global and dynamic team. This role will be based in Hyderabad, with the flexibility to work both remotely and in the office for three days a week, including some overlap with U.S. hours. You will report to the Hyderabad People Operations Director and be a crucial member of our Global People Operations and Payroll teams across North America, Europe, and India.

As our Payroll Manager, you will lead the payroll operations for India and the global integration efforts with a new global payroll vendor with our Workday HRIS system for the countries where payroll is currently being processed offline (Ireland, Australia, UK, Spain, and Brazil) and entities where we are beginning to process payroll for the first time (India and Mexico). This role will require global payroll expertise and the ability to build strong partnerships with existing payroll, people operations, and accounting leaders and team members.

 

*All applicants must be able to work from our local Hyderabad office 2-3x week and when there are onsite candidate interviews.*

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:    

  • Lead the integration efforts with a new global payroll vendor, starting with India, in partnership with our US Payroll Manager, our Workday team, and other relevant stakeholders from People Operations and Accounting.
  • Stand up and manage the India payroll processing, compliance, and analysis ensure proper processes are in place for capturing all inputs accurately and review payroll output from payroll vendors including but not limited to performing payroll analysis such as total gross payroll to net payment, average paid per headcount by country, and comparison of analysis to prior period, etc.
  • Respond to employee inquiries via internal ticketing system or email and serve as liaison between employee and third-party providers; educate and counsel employees on how to use Workday® Employee Self Service tools and address issues that fall outside the scope of self-service, hourly time tracking and overtime.
  • Serve as the Workday Payroll functional expert on cross-functional efforts related to new compensation and/or benefits offerings
  • Drive meetings with cross-functional departments (People Operations, Finance, Accounting, IT, Legal, etc.) to identify and implement payroll process improvements and best practices.
  • Partner with US Payroll Manager and develop and implement global payroll processes, policies & procedures to ensure proper internal controls, efficiency, and best-in-class employee experiences

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of end-to-end payroll processing with at least 3+ years of experience managing / leading global payroll for a US based company
  • Advanced experience with Workday® and advanced Excel Skills (pivot tables and lookups) and experience with working with global payroll vendors
  • Expertise in India payroll operations and experience with US, Canadian, European payroll operations
  • Experience with reporting of equity compensation programs through payroll
  • Engaged leadership style focused on building and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders through collaboration and communication
  • Hands-on leadership experience building and growing a new team

  • Experience in a global SaaS or tech company, particularly in a fast-growing environment.
  • A proactive, high-energy attitude geared towards achieving continuous improvement.
  • Strong project management and system implementation skills and experience.
  • Experience supporting the Hyderabad region, with knowledge of local HR practices and employment laws.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills needed to interface and establish rapport with all levels of the organization including executive team members.
