The Opportunity
As an AWS Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for administration, designing, implementing, managing, and monitoring complex AWS Cloud Solutions and infrastructures. You will collaborate with business leaders to learn about organizational objectives and design effective cloud-based solutions. Work with various AWS services to create cost-effective, scalable, and secure solutions
Responsibilities
- Design and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS, providing architectural guidance, and assessing existing infrastructure.
- Managing AWS accounts, setting up new accounts, and configuring account-level settings such as billing, access controls, and security.
- Resource Provisioning and Management: Deploying and managing various AWS resources like EC2 instances, S3 buckets, RDS databases, load balancers, etc., as per the organization's requirements.
- Ensuring the security of AWS resources by implementing appropriate security measures, managing IAM (Identity and Access Management) policies, monitoring for security threats, and responding to security incidents.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Configuring monitoring tools and services to track the performance and health of AWS resources, as well as setting up logging to collect and analyze system and application logs.
- Monitoring and optimizing AWS resource usage to control costs and ensure efficient resource utilization
- Utilizing AWS automation tools, such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS CLI, and AWS SDKs, to automate resource deployment and management tasks
- Resolving issues related to AWS resources, identifying root causes of problems, and providing technical support to users or other teams within the organization
- Optimizing the performance of AWS services by fine-tuning configurations, scaling resources as needed, and implementing best practices
Skills and Qualifications
- 10+ years' experience in IT industry experience with 5+ years of relevant experience of working as AWS cloud platform administrator.
- Set up and configure various AWS services like EC2 (compute), S3 (storage), VPC (networking), RDS (databases), etc.
- Monitor, manage, and scale AWS resources (e.g., EC2 instances, EBS volumes, S3 buckets) as needed to meet business requirements.
- Document configurations, network setups, backup strategies, and any custom solutions developed on AWS.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills with experience leading and managing teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive strategic initiatives.
