We are looking for a hands‑on Technical Lead & Architect to drive solution architecture and technical health for one of our top L&AH customers. This role will work closely with Senior Technical Architect and Majesco leadership to:
- Own end‑to‑end solution architecture for Customer’s L&A platform (policy administration and related components)
- Lead technical improvements (performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability)
- Debug and stabilize production issues, including deep‑dive analysis across application, integration, and infrastructure layers
- Guide and upskill an offshore engineering team in India while collaborating with Customer’s onshore stakeholders.
You should be comfortable switching between strategic architecture work and hands‑on code/diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership- Define and evolve the target solution architecture for Customer’s L&A implementation, aligning with both Majesco product standards and Customer enterprise guidelines.
- Lead solutioning for new implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and performance improvements.
- Translate business and non‑functional requirements (performance, availability, security, resiliency) into architectural and design decisions.
- Review and approve HLD/LLD, design patterns, interfaces, and integration approaches across components.
- Ensure consistent use of frameworks, coding standards, and best practices across the team.
- Act as technical point of escalation for complex production incidents related to customer.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA), drive permanent fixes, and define preventive measures.
- Guide the team in using logs, metrics, profiling tools, APM, and database diagnostics to troubleshoot issues.
- Drive performance tuning of application, database, and integrations to meet SLAs.
- Partner with Amol and Customerteams on incident triage, communication, and post‑incident reviews.
- Prepare, review, and own estimates for upgrades, new features, and technical improvements.
- Provide technical oversight across sprints/releases, ensuring design integrity and technical debt management.
- Support QC/testing teams with test strategy for performance, regression, and non‑functional coverage.
- Contribute to implementation roadmaps, risk identification, and mitigation planning for Customer.
- Lead and mentor a team of software specialists/engineers working on the account.
- Coach team members on architecture, design, debugging, and domain; build strong second‑line technical leaders.
- Promote Agile ways of working (Scrum, CI/CD, automation) and a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Amol and Customer stakeholders to clarify requirements, propose solutions, and gain alignment.
- Present architecture and design options, trade‑offs, and recommendations to technical and business audiences.
- Communicate complex technical topics in a clear, structured, and customer‑friendly manner.
- 10+ years of experience in design and development using Java and related technologies.
- Strong L&A insurance domain knowledge (Policy Administration Systems) for the North American market (preferred strong plus).
- Proven experience as Technical Lead / Solution Architect on complex enterprise implementations, ideally for large insurers.
- Strong object‑oriented design and Java expertise; experience with:
- Spring (Core, Boot), Hibernate/JPA, JMS, REST APIs
- Web technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript and related UI frameworks
- Interface/integration frameworks (e.g., SOAP/REST, messaging, file‑based, ESB/iPaaS).
- Experience in UML‑based analysis and design using standard modeling tools.
- Hands‑on experience producing and reviewing High‑Level Design (HLD) and Low‑Level Design (LLD) documents.
- Solid understanding of business rules engines and workflow engines.
- Strong RDBMS skills (any major database) with clear understanding of SQL, indexing, query optimization, and data modeling.
- Exposure to performance engineering (profiling, load testing, tuning) at application and DB levels.
- Familiarity with DevOps/CI‑CD practices and automation tools (build, deployment, and test automation).
- Experience leading requirements and design workshops with business and IT stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and use frameworks (architecture and delivery) to design solutions for functional and non‑functional requirements.
- Strong experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, including CI, automated testing, and iterative delivery.
- Demonstrated ability in guiding a team to implement solution architecture for large L&A insurance projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex designs and trade‑offs to customers.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset, ownership orientation, and ability to make informed technical decisions under time pressure.
- Ability to work in a global, distributed environment, with overlap to US time zones as needed for customer collaboration and production support.
- Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or equivalent, or
- Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
- Prior experience working directly with large global insurers.
- Experience with cloud‑based architectures (AWS/Azure) and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Prior experience with Majesco products in the L&A space.
