At Udacity, the Analytics Team is deploying data to inform and empower the company with insight, to drive student success and business value. We are looking for a Principal Data Analyst to help advance that vision as part of our business analytics group. You will work with stakeholders to help inform their current initiatives and long term roadmap with data. You will be a key part of a dynamic data team that works daily with strategic partners to deliver data, prioritize resources and scale our impact. Your Responsibilities:- You will report to the Director of Data and lead high-impact analyses of Udacity’s curriculum and learner behavior to optimize content strategy, ensure skills alignment with industry needs, and drive measurable outcomes for learners and enterprise clients
- Lead the development of a strategic analytics roadmap for Udacity’s content organization, aligning insights with learning, product, and business goals.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to define and monitor KPIs that measure the health, efficacy, and ROI of our curriculum across both B2C and enterprise portfolios
- Centralize and synthesize learner feedback, CX signals, and performance data to identify content pain points and inform roadmap prioritization.
- Develop scalable methods to assess content effectiveness by integrating learner outcomes, usage behavior, and engagement metrics.
- Contribute to building AI-powered systems that classify learner feedback, learning styles, and success predictors.
- Act as a thought partner to leaders across Content and Product by communicating insights clearly and influencing strategic decisions.
- Lead cross-functional analytics initiatives and mentor peers and junior analysts to elevate data maturity across the organization.
- 8+ years experience in analytics or data science roles with a focus on product/content insights, ideally in edtech or SaaS.
- Advanced SQL and experience with data warehouses (Athena, Presto, Redshift, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, machine learning, and automation.
- Experience with dashboards and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of experimentation, A/B testing, and causal inference frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead high-impact analytics projects independently and influence stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills—able to translate technical insights into business recommendations
- Familiarity with Tableau, Amplitude, dbt, Airflow, or similar tools
- Experience working with large-scale sequential or clickstream data
- Exposure to NLP, embeddings, or GPT-based analysis for feedback classification
- Understanding of learning science or instructional design principles
