Skills
- 15+ years professional experience in developing enterprise software, preferably in a Java/J2EE environment, and demonstrated fluency in Java
- Experience with formal architecture modeling framework such as TOGAF in design of new features.
- Passion for mentoring of more junior engineers to introduce and enforce proper thinking and consideration.
- Passion and experience with AI/ML tooling for automating feature development, UI migrations, and test automation.
- Proven experience developing/designing Java and JavaScript based UI components.
- Experience using JSF, ExtJS, AngularJS, Bootstrap, jQuery, AJAX, and other J2EE technologies
- Experience in the development and integration of REST-based web services utilizing XML and/or JSON data representations
- Experience with various operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, AIX, Solaris, etc.)
- Experience with SQL and one or more database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, etc.)
- Experience with object-relational mapping (ORM) tools, such as Hibernate is highly desirable
- Experience with one or more web application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, etc.)
- Experience with one or more revision control systems (GitHub, Subversion, Perforce, CVS, etc.)
- Experience in the development and maintenance of unit tests using a testing framework, such as TestNG and JUnit, is highly desirable
- Proven ability to work with other software development engineers for problem reproduction and resolution
- Proven ability to successfully navigate and relate to varying levels of functional and technical personnel
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Experience with the monitoring/management/deployment of said products is highly desirable
- Experience with IT backend protocols and systems, such as LDAP and Active Directory, is highly desirable
Roadmap & Timeline for Success:
Within the first 30 days you will:
- Onboard into your new role, get familiar with our product offering and technology stack
- If applicable, come up to speed on Identity Access Management space
- Get familiar with our competitors, their product offerings and the direction of their businesses
- Get to know your peers, leaders and other engineers to understand current state, challenges and motivations
- Seek to deeply understand current state of identity security industry, our business problems or common engineering challenges, and as it relates to SailPoint propose software architecture designs to solve them
- Interview stakeholders to understand our business goals, product roadmap and challenges ahead of you
By 90 days:
- Responsible for enhancements to the technical architecture of our Identity Security product, providing architectural leadership across business application domains, data architecture, data integration, security and cloud technologies.
- Develop working rapport with other solution architects to understand our current SDLC and begin to scope out AI-forward/driven SDLC improvements.
- Set the standard for excellence in engineering by advocating design and coding best practices
- Look beyond the immediate backlog to create and share a forward-thinking technical vision for your team
- You have a full grasp of our product and are developing a technology strategy
By 6 months:
- You are regularly mentoring and coaching members of your team
- You own multiple significant projects including driving AI in formal engineering ways where pragmatic and able to show value.
- You provide technical leadership to your team while also delivering high quality code on your own
- Lead significant and thoughtful critiques of others’ design documents
- Consistently achieve targets and meet deadlines; you ensure the quality of deliverables exceeds expectations
- You are flexing your lifelong learning muscles, staying abreast of emerging external technologies to understand when to introduce them to your team.
- You are defining and executing on new components Engineering Technology Strategy.
- You are leading the implementation (Arch/design/Development) of new services and product offerings with talents and world class Engineers.
- You are presenting and communicating the technological leaps to executives as well as high level stakeholders
- Translating overarching business strategies into actionable technical roadmaps will be your key responsibility, ensuring synergy between vision and execution.
- You are recognized as a subject matter expert of SailPoint Services and offerings both internally and externally and giving training sessions, webinars, or speak at conferences
- With a focus on talent development, you'll hire, mentor, and coach new team members, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
