As a Principal Technical Support Engineer, you will troubleshoot customer issues with Aspen Engineering solutions, deliver training, gather customer feedback for product improvement, and author knowledge base articles. You will also provide sales support through product demonstrations and may travel to customer sites occasionally.

The RoleWe are seeking a Principal Technical Support Engineer to join our Aspen Engineering Solutions Technical Support team. The ideal candidate should be able to learn new concepts quickly, be an innovative thinker, demonstrate high initiative, have great communication skills and work to the highest ethical standards.
Your Impact
- Assignments will be varied. Your time will be divided between solving customer problems with our Aspen Engineering solutions via telephone/web, deploying engineering software, delivering high quality training on our Simulation product line and other department projects as needed.
- Provide customer specific reviews, health checks and guidance to holistically solve customers’ business problems. Provide specific recommendations for customers to achieve more business value from our products.
- Drive improvement in our Engineering software. Provide your own ideas and bring customer feedback to the R&D team to make our products better.
- Serve as a key focal point for problem escalation and resolution.
- Develop and maintain Engineering training course materials and curriculum to include newly released functionality and the latest trends in Simulation fields.
- Author white paper solution articles for publication to the user community through our support web knowledge base.
- Test pre-released versions of AspenTech software.
- Travel to customer sites if required. Travel is usually less than 40% and may occasionally be international.
Training Delivery
- Deliver the product trainings at the office and customer site in Worldwide to meet the demand from customer.
- Knowledge transfer sessions for internal staff on technical issues.
Sales support
- Provide necessary Sales Support by Demonstrating Product functions, Demo and presentation.
What You'll Need
Years of Experience
- Minimum working experience of 8-10 years with Aspen Engineering solutions like Aspen Plus, EDR, HYSYS, REFSYS, ACCE and Aspen Basic Engineering or other relevant software tools
- Direct working experience with AspenTech software for minimum 5 years is required.
- Experience in HYSYS Reactor modeling, Aspen Polymers, Aspen Custom modelers and Aspen Utilities are added advantage.
Education
- Engineering Degree B Tech / BE in Chemical / Process Engineering / Petroleum Engineering [or] Petrochemical is minimum.
- Master’s degree or higher qualification is advantage.
Technical Skills
- Experience in designing and developing Process simulation models using Aspen Plus, EDR, HYSYS, ACCE and Aspen Basic Engineering
- Excellent troubleshooting solving simulation and convergence problem,
- Knowledge about Hybrid modeling techniques and Piping and Layout development using OptiPlant related technologies are added advantage.
- Experience in teaching or training delivery is added must.
Soft Skills
- Excellent Communication Skills in English and writing Skills are essential for the Job
- Interpersonal and Customer relationship skills
Travel Requirements: 50-60% Travel time
