About this role

Business Overview 

The Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock’s fiduciary and enterprise risks.  RQA’s principal objectives are to advance the firm’s risk management practices and to deliver independent risk expertise and constructive challenge to drive better business and investment outcomes.  

 

We are recruiting for a newly formed Core Risk Management (Core RM) group, whose objective is to advance risk management practices at BlackRock, delivering scale and resilience to the risk management platform. This opportunity is to join the Core Risk Governance team which is a part of Core RM, which will work with Investment Risk Managers and other BlackRock teams across the globe to enable efficient and effective governance and oversight of BlackRock’s investment portfolios in accordance with Investment Risk Management policies and procedures 

 

Role Description: 

 

The Private Markets vertical within Core Risk Governance is dedicated to ensuring robust risk oversight and governance for private market investments. This team focuses on maintaining data integrity, delivering advanced analytics, and providing transparent reporting to support strategic decision-making. By establishing standardized data frameworks, implementing advanced analytics, and driving timely reporting, it partners closely with investment teams, technology, and compliance functions to embed risk culture and deliver actionable insights across credit, infrastructure, and alternative investments. 

 

Key Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Strong understanding of risk governance principles and private market investment structures. 

  • Expertise in data management, including data quality, lineage, and governance frameworks. 

  • Proficiency in risk analytics 

  • Ability to design and implement reporting solutions. 

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices for private markets. 

  • Advance python & R skills 

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to collaborate across investment, technology, and partner teams. 

  • Experience in automation and process optimization for reporting and analytics workflows. 

 

Experience, Skills and Qualification: 

 

Should have a keen interest in solving difficult real-world problems, analytics, reporting and production. The candidate is required to have outstanding business, communication and presentation skills. An attention to detail, a good work ethic and ability to work as part of a team in fast paced environment are other important characteristics. 

 

  • MBA/ B.Tech with additional certification in FRM or CFA will be advantage. 

  • 35 years of professional experience in risk governance, data analytics, or related domains. 

  • Strong understanding of private and public markets, including investment structures and risk considerations. 

  • Expertise in data management, including data quality, lineage, and governance frameworks. 

  • Proficiency in advanced analytics, with experience with tech platforms 

  • Professional Python & R programming experience is a must, including building data pipelines and analytics. 

  • Ability to design and implement reporting solutions for portfolio monitoring, stress testing, and regulatory compliance. 

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to collaborate across investment, technology, and compliance teams. 

  • Experience in automation and process optimization for reporting and analytics workflows.
