The Role:
Morningstar Sustainalytics is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Business Analyst to support enhancements for Global Access, our client platform for accessing most of our core research and data products, including our flagship ESG Risk Ratings and Research. In this role, you will work closely with Product Managers, business stakeholders, and technology teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements. You will play a key role in ensuring feature clarity, supporting Agile delivery, and validating that enhancements meet user expectations and business objectives.
What You'll Do
- Partner with Product Managers and business stakeholders to understand product goals and user needs.
- Conduct stakeholder discussions and user interviews to gather and refine functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
- Refine and maintain the product backlog, ensuring clarity, completeness, and readiness for development.
- Collaborate with technology, QA, and design teams in Agile ceremonies - including backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives - to ensure smooth delivery.
- Review test scenarios, coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and validate that deliverables meet documented requirements.
- Identify requirement gaps, inconsistencies, or risks, and proactively work with stakeholders to resolve them.
- Support production releases by investigating issues, performing root-cause analysis, and recommending improvements.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation in JIRA, Confluence, and related tools.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and analytical tools for internal and client-facing teams.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in Business Analysis, Product Ownership support, or requirements-focused roles.
- Strong understanding of client platforms, data management processes, and their business impact.
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban), with hands-on involvement in backlog refinement and sprint execution.
- Skilled at translating high-level business objectives into detailed, implementable requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, WIKI, and related requirement management tools.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Agile certification (CSPO, SAFe POPM, or equivalent) is a plus.
