Job Description

Job Purpose

• Deliver & implement the assigned project / work package on time with good quality, cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure technical deliverables matches project / work package requirements. Save engineering cost for GEC team through application & technical expertise.
• Ensure site activities are completed as desired by customer and in specified time frame.

Reports to : Team Lead

Key Responsibilities

DO

• Willingness to travel frequently at site and troubleshoot/ rectify the issues.
• Deliver & execute the assigned projects on time with good quality/ cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction
• Complete Project task based on work assignment.
• Deliver the assigned projects on time with good quality/ cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction
• Keep improving self-engineering capabilities and exchange best practice with other team members to improve team's capabilities.
• Work with Team Leader / Lead Engineer to guarantee customer acceptance.
• Ensure project implementation follows the engineering delivery standard.
• Maximize reusable standard product and engineering in project delivery.
• Technical implementation in whole life cycle of project / work package delivery.
• Work with Team Leader to manage technical risk in project / work package execution.
• Support Team Leader / Lead Engineer on technical issues.
• Work with Team Leader to clarify technical issues.
• Cost reduction through process & manufacturing improvement, and through development of reusable engineering or engineering standard.
• Work with Team Leader to manage technical risk in project
• Work with Team Leader to achieve customer acceptance. Demonstrate application & technical expertise to achieve repeat order and retain customer satisfaction.

OVERSEE

• Ensure 100% meet technical items defined in project / work package.
• Ensure project implementation follows the procedure of RA engineering standards.
• Maximize reusable standard product and engineering in project / work package delivery.
• Support Team Leader in managing team performance, develop self and team capability and motivate the team.

Job related competencies

• Strong level of expertise in Component and Architecture Class Standard Drives, , Safety Product, Networks and a understanding of Motion Control Servo drive Kinetix 5500,5700,6500
• Intermediate level of expertise in Industry Knowledge (Tire-Banbury, Tire building machine, Bead winding Curing press, calendaring machine ), Application Knowledge, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety).
• Good Working Knowledge of Servo drives based on application like Bead winding, Tire building machine, cutter etc…
• Commissioning experience on PLC, Drive & Servo
• Technical Knowledge on Electrical Switchgear, Part selection for a drive/Servo
• Different Electrical Standard knowledge like NEMA, IEC, UL508 will be an added advantage.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE (Education, qualifications and experience requirements an employee must have)

w Bachelors in Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics.

w 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in automation engineering on PLC (Rockwell – Control Logix, PLC 5, Compact Logix), experience in automation engineering on Drive/Servo application engineering.

w Experience of complete project life cycle from design phase to commissioning.

w Minimum 4-5 years of site commissioning experience

w Hands on experience in designing, selection and execution of industrial automation products such as PLC/DCS, VFD, HMI/SCADA, Industrial communication (Ethernet, Profibus, Controlnet, Modbus, etc.)
