Job responsibilities
- Perform Data Mining / Analysis of Trends with an ability to use querying and data mining tools to create and analyze large data sets with the end goal of detecting trends and making recommendations for changes based on these trends and Work with key stakeholders (including business leaders) to determine requirements for new dashboards
- Develop and maintain data workflows using Alteryx along with Designing and developing ETL workflows and datasets in Alteryx to be used by Tableau
- Have and leverage a strong foundational knowledge of metrics to build effective solutions that simplify, automate, and add value
- Express creativity and ingenuity to transform how we see and understand data
- Prepare technical specifications and documentation for Alteryx workflows supporting BI reports
- Develop dashboards in Tableau to summarize and analyze key business drivers
- Work with Technology and Business teams to support dashboards that works efficiently and have strong controls
- Understand the variety of sources for information and how to strategically source data tracking development and deployment timelines. Transition the team to an Agile methodology for developing and maintaining reports
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing and Validation of new reports and Partner effectively across markets ops. OCM community and Business Operations
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Work with huge sets of data from varied systems and stitch it together to derive meaningful information
- Report Development: Experience building reporting tools and dashboards. Candidate should have 4+ years of experience with building reports in Tableau and other BI tools
- Work closely with the technology team to explain the requirements; test the solution developed by them and also perform UAT in close coordination with Operations Leads. Gather, understand and document business requirements (BRDs, Functional Specifications, etc.).Adherence to key control/regulatory/audit standards.
- Interact with other Tech teams for inputs and enhancements to their systems. Managing the project end-to-end; ensuring quality output within prescribed timelines .Communication of progress to senior management & timely escalation of issues.Liaise with technology and operations globally to understand potential re-use
- Candidate Should be able to quickly and objectively analyze and evaluate issues and form decisions, an analytical thinker with superior data analysis skills , Should be able to quickly and objectively analyze and evaluate issues and form decisions, should be able to synthesize data into actionable insights and effectively communicate to all levels of management, Must be able to operate in a self-directed manner; must have a strong desire to take the initiative to deliver superior results with urgency
- Minimum 3 years of experience in coding of Data Visualization Tools like Tableau, Qlikview, and Alteryx etc. Skilled in MS office applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access and Project .
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) .Experience with data warehousing and user access, mining, and reporting applications/tools. Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle & Agile methodology
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, Ability to drive results through a \"hands-on\" approach and Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and adept at communicating with all levels of the business and technical parts of the organization
- Can operate effectively in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines, and can prioritize one's own work to achieve them .Excellent with Data analysis, data mining and system analysis
- Familiarity with a global bank's process & operational environment including management and external reporting is a must. Strong business knowledge i.e. Investment Banking, including product, process and system knowledge. Sound knowledge of the trade lifecycle
- Ability to think and act strategically by dealing with day-to-day issues as well as planning and executing projects / initiatives; Ensuring the team's activities support Operations in attaining its strategic goals ; Excellent attention to detail, and an ability to know when a deep-dive approach is appropriate
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Python or R Programming experience - Good to have
- Graduate or Post-Graduate (preferred) with 8-10 years' experience in operations and MIS reporting.
- Familiarity with Agile and JIRA - Good to have
- Familiar with Investment Banking processes and operations controls (knowledge of operations controls E.g. critical metrics, Risk events etc.) - Good to have
- Ability to understand/ work on MS Access Database and SQL would be preferred
- Flexibility to work global hours and willing to travel globally, if needed
