Introduction to the Division / Function
Located in Chakan, Pune, the CAD division of our factory is premier for its expertise in delivering highly customised solutions tailored to meet diverse customer needs. This unit boasts unique skills and in-depth know-how, enabling it to implement projects seamlessly from engineering the solution to installation and commissioning at the customer’s premises.
Our operations team, comprising Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, and Quality departments, collaborate effectively to deliver an impressive annual revenue exceeding $18 million USD. We proudly serve a wide range of industries, including Oil & Gas, Steel, Cement, Power, Fertilizer, and Academia. Recognizing India as a strategic hub for our manufacturing operations, Thermo Fisher is committed to further scale up manufacturing footprint and developing the existing facility to undertake manufacturing of complex and high-end products for India and global markets resulting into annual revenue touching $70Mn by 2030. In line with our growth strategy, we are seeking to go onboard an experienced and dynamic professional to assume the role of Project Manager, leading our Chakan operations in Pune.

Role Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of projects involving all collaborators within the organisation and outside the organization. Balancing between customer-centricity and organizational interest by aligning the needs and expectations of customers with the strategic goals and operational capabilities of the organization is one of the key duties of this role. This role involves coordinating with various departments, managing project teams (3 to 4 project managers), and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. For succeeding in this role, the individual must possess leadership skills eg, Strategic, analytical, forward-looking and decision-making. Passionate about driving improvement in customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables to customers.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, achievements, and resource allocation.
- Monitor and track project progress, adjusting as necessary to ensure successful completion.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Lead and manage project teams, providing direction, support, and motivation.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Facilitate communication and resolve conflicts within the project team.
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with customers, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Provide regular updates and reports to partners on project status and performance.
- Manage team member relationships and address any concerns or issues that arise.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously drive improvement in Customer Experience through detailed execution.
- Develop and implement project management methodologies, tools, and standards.
- Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Train and mentor project management staff on guidelines and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Instrumentation / Electrical / Mechanical), Project Management, or a related field.
- 8 to 10 years of demonstrated expertise in coordinating projects, showing a history of effectively guiding and completing them.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and social skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- PMP or Prince 2 similar project management certification is preferred.
