Investigator Grants Estimates Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive investigator grant estimates for clinical research studies for inclusion in the proposal budget. This role partners with strategy, physicians, operations/delivery, proposal teams etc. to prepare tailored investigator grant costs using Grant Plan.
Ensures that estimates align with study protocols and sponsor requirements, providing cost-effective and competitive budgets for investigator grants.
Budget Development Responsibilities:
Overseeing and developing RFP budgets, ensuring that budgets align with project goals, client requirements, and company standards.
Partner with global teams of subject matter experts from Strategy, Delivery, Feasibility, Medical Affairs, Project Management, Clinical Operations, Proposals, and Business Development to produce winning proposals/budgets.

Primary Responsibility:
Investigator Grants Estimates (IGE) Development
Develops detailed and accurate investigator grant cost estimates at the RFP stage for clinical trials.
May assist post-award Creates investigator grant costs utilizing Grant Plan based on available protocol and schedule of events.
Ensures that estimates are competitive yet realistic, reflecting the needs of the study while adhering to RFP/site requirements.
Revises estimates as study protocols are refined, keeping updated grant budgets aligned with any changes to scope, timeline, or requirements
Analyzes historical data from previous grants and studies to benchmark costs and ensure the accuracy and competitiveness of estimates.
Compliance with Sponsor Requirements
Ensures that all grants estimates comply with sponsor specifications, RFP requirements, and any regulatory or institutional requirements.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of sponsor/site policies
May periodically provide support to new or junior-level Proposal and Grants Manager.
Secondary Responsibility:
Budget Development
Independently leads the development of budgets in response to requests for proposals (RFPs) and/or requests for information (RFIs), for assigned opportunities to meet client specifications.
Reviews and analyzes RFI and/or Request for Proposal (RFP) documents to ensure adequate information for budget, proposal and/or response preparation is provided.
Follows up with appropriate contact for additional information as required. Manages the end-to-end budget process, including developing timelines, creating outlines, assigning tasks, and ensuring the budget is submitted on time. Schedules and facilitate internal calls to discuss customer requirements. Create the initial draft of the customized monitoring strategy.
Finalize and apply to the costing after review and finalization in consultation with costing director/s Work across the organization in matrix environment across multiple time-zones and locations to lead the process and complete deliverables.
Is responsible for resolving issues/challenges and informing Manager; may seek Manager’s advice for complex issues/challenges.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
Ensure budgets are fully compliant with RFP/RFI requirements, client expectations, and proposal/QC guidelines.
Review all budget components for quality, consistency, and adherence to company branding and messaging.
Identifies and participates in ways to improve the efficiency and quality of processes and the resulting deliverables
Maintains appropriate knowledge of the industry and regulatory environments. Maintains and updates budget databases and templates
Performs timely and accurate data entry into departmental and/or corporate databases/systems as appropriate.
Qualifications (Minimum Required):
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic qualification
Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
Experience (Minimum Required):
A minimum of 5 years of experience within the Clinical Research, Pharma and/or Biotech industry with at least 5 years of experience in grants and budget development.
Strong financial acumen, with the ability to develop accurate and detailed grants estimates.
Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
Familiarity with clinical trial budgeting and cost structures (e.g., patient care costs, investigator fees, indirect rates).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and grant management software (e.g., Grants.gov, eRA Commons, or similar platforms).
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple grant estimates and deadlines simultaneously and accuracy in managing financial data.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple budget submissions simultaneously.
Familiarity with cost accounting standards and regulatory compliance
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for explaining complex financial information clearly.
