 Job Title and Level: QA Consultant

  Role: Provides technical leadership to a team for planning and executing on quality assurance projects. Works closely with a group leader(s) to design the testing approach for a large complex project or multiple small projects. Develops, publishes, and implements test plans for specific software solutions. Develops strategies for implementing and enhancing the use of software test automation for multiple projects. Leads the development of quality assurance standards. The position is organization structure dependent and linked to ownership of cross modules. Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts. Typically requires 7-11 years quality assurance experience in a software development environment and upto 3 years in previous role. Must have solid experience and expertise surrounding software quality assurance and software development methodologies. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish quality assurance goals. Performs a variety of lead technical quality assurance tasks. Utilizes project management skills to meet project timetables and deliverable. Will often lead and direct the work of others and has project management skills similar to a group leader. Up-to-date on current and best practices related to quality assurance. Technical creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a Section Manager/Manager or General Manager. Testing expert in Automation and Performance testing activities and interested in pursuing an exciting and enriching career in the Retail Domain.

Your Day-to-Day:

Create, maintain and enhance the existing automation suite for various releases and products.

Support Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery Pipeline.

Responsible for automation script creation, debugging, and ongoing maintenance

* Automation Testing Related -

   Automation Tool Framework development and maintenance.

   Develop and maintain automated software tests, unit tests.

   Code Review and Optimization of the automated tests.

* Performance Testing Related -

   Gather Performance Testing Requirements and conduct system performance testing to ensure system reliability, capacity and scalability.

   Work with testing team to develop performance test plans and cases.

   Develop automated scripts in JMeter. Develop automated test scenarios and environments for performance testing.

   Analyse test results and coordinate with development teams for bug fixes.

   Generate test summary reports for management review.

   Analyse root causes of performance issues and provide corrective actions.

 Leads the translation of product requirements, use case definitions and functional specifications into a cohesive testing plan for further test execution of the assigned project

 Devises appropriate methodologies and tools for executing the test plan for the project. Provides technical mentoring to the assigned project team for applying the methodologies and tools

 Actively participates in review on all aspects of design and implementation phases of assigned project(s)

 Creates and documents test approaches, test scenarios and testing/result reporting guidelines. Executes on the above approaches

 Establishes testing strategies and participates in the selection of various (testing, productivity and result reporting) tools to be used by the QA organization

 Establishes and enforces standard methods for requirements evaluation, test planning and execution in conjunction with group leaders

 Develops product QA plans in line with important business goals

 Demonstrate expertise regarding the functioning of multiple PTC and related products across multiple system environments

 Serve as technical mentor for multiple QA Engineers and Sr. QA Engineers

 Be an active QA representative for product related Cross Functional Teams (CFT)

 Share technical information with the team and to a wider audience when appropriate

 Provide timely and complete information and documentation to product stakeholders

 Understands the Software development lifecycle and demonstrates expertise in the use of established QA practices as well as creation of new QA practices in conjunction with Group Leader(s)

 Works closely with group leader to validate accuracy of effort estimates during test planning and execution phase

 Works closely with group leader(s) to analyze technical aspects of task dependencies as well as task definition and assignment

 Oversees, evaluates and reports on the work of test team in the absence of a group leader

Role: QA Test Environment Support

Primary Responsibilities

 Maintain a current product environment in accordance to the compatibility matrix

 Ensure assigned QA machines are up to date with latest release or maintenance software

 Promptly resolve any outstanding issues or problems around assigned product areas. Ensuring QA web page reflects current status of assigned systems and their availability

 Follow organization process and best practices with respect to QA
