Quality Engineer has solid understanding of testing processes and standards. The candidate is responsible for delivering end-to-end testing artifacts with high quality. In this role, you will work as part of a larger project team with both the business partners and technology teams to ensure that test strategy include both functional and non-functional requirements. The candidate will work with other quality engineers to probe on methodology, correctness and effectiveness of the test executed and guide the technology teams and business partners.
The candidate should have a proven automation experience which will help to apply automation best practices and should be having an experience working on Agile Scrum and/or Kanban methodology.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and develop the test approach, test plan and test schedule to effectively validate technology projects on both functional requirements and technical specifications.
- Effectively plan, manage and execute the testing process to validate that all functional and non-functional requirements are met.
- Participate in business requirements discussions, design sessions and functional specification reviews with the technology teams and business partners. Ensure that test plans adequately test the functionality, interfaces, performance, and data integrity of the project.
- Demonstrate an expert knowledge level of and be a vocal champion for the use of quality assurance principles, advanced testing tools, processes, quality control methodologies and other technology advances.
- Deliver quality process training to technology teams and act as an internal quality expert to advise and influence business partners and the technology teams.
- Provide testing expertise and coach/mentor the testing team around best practices in quality assurance methodologies, practices and techniques (this includes more junior Quality Assurance Analysts as well as the broader technology project teams).
- Research, identify, and drive the implementation of innovative approaches to system administration tasks with a focus on automation, error reduction and service improvement.
- Regularly and proactively evaluate production issues to identify needs, issues or gaps and drive/implement solutions to improve performance and overall health of the environment.
- Good exposure on any programming language.
- Should be open to learn new technologies/tools.
- Collaborate with cross-commit teams for implementation of deliverables in all environments.
- Prioritize and manage work requests for changes and enhancements based on business requirements.
- Manage test plan & risks through development phases to implementation, ensure zero defects are introduced into the production environment.
- Ensure required documentation for projects and/or enhancements are created and updated.
- Deliver results work both in a team or independently.
- Monitor and support the production environment applications to ensure optimum stability and performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field.
- Experience in systems analysis, design, quality assurance and integration methodologies.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of SDLC is must.
- Understanding of database concepts and SQL.
- At least 2+ years of experience in automation testing using Selenium Webdriver, Rest Assured or Cypress.
- Superior analytical and business skills to reconcile conflicting objectives and find/design acceptable compromises within existing constraints.
- Be an excellent problem solver with a solid understanding of OOP and a passion and drive to expand your coding skills.
- Strong knowledge of various technical stacks and up to date on latest technology.
- Knowledge in web application testing.
- Knowledge of any scripting language JavaScript (most preferred)/Python/VB script/ Shell Script.
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of any programming language.
- Knowledge of content management system like Bloomreach is a plus.
- Knowledge in web accessibility testing is added advantage.
- Exposure to BFSI domain is a good to have.
