Quality Test Engineer III

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be working to support our Customer Services technology teams with ensuring that the tools they are using are working correctly.
About the Role:-
The primary focus of this work will be working our Generative AI Chatbots and associated tooling, ensuring that these provide a smooth and cohesive user experience and that they meet the requirements of the business. As we work to extend these bots to become more intelligent, there will also potentially be work with other teams on ensuring that everything integrates together correctly.

There will also be additional support required for other items that the Customer Services Solutions teams are working on around Generative AI, including integrations and testing of Generative AI solutions into our standard tooling, such as Oracle Service Cloud. In addition to this, you may also be asked to support some of our other platforms which may require testing. This is likely to include our Support Hub platform, which will be predominantly web-based testing and automation scripting.
Responsibilities: -
- Test planning & strategy
- Develop comprehensive testing strategies to ensure quality standards are met.
- Create test cases
- Design and document test cases based on requirements and user stories.
- Smoke testing & automation
- Conduct smoke tests and implement automation to streamline testing processes.
- Verify design, business flow, intent testing
- Ensure the digital assistant meets design specifications and business flow requirements through intent testing.
- Performance testing includes cross browser and multiple device testing
- Execute performance testing across multiple browsers and devices to validate functionality and responsiveness.
- Documentation
- Maintain thorough documentation of test plans, cases, and results for transparency and traceability.
- Support & communication
- Collaborate with teams, provide QA insights, and, where necessary, facilitate daily UAT stand-ups to align testing efforts and address issues in real time.
- Issue Management & Quality Advocacy
- Identify, track, and manage defects for timely resolution, while championing quality best practices and promoting a culture of quality within the team.
- Collaboration with different teams
- Work closely with development teams to ensure prompt issue fixes and coordinate with team members to perform testing effectively.
Requirements: -
- 3+ years of QA Test Engineering experience
- BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies.
- Experience working with Digital Assistant / Chatbot Technologies (kore.ai is Elsevier's preferred partner)
- Experience with Generative AI concepts
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies.
- Experience of Playwright for testcases
- Strong knowledge of process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of the software development process.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Solid QA testing skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Proven ability to develop and execute automated and performance testing.
- Basic understanding of working within budgets.
- Understanding of industry trends.
- Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement practices.
- Strong research skills (tools/root cause analysis).
- Good oral and written communication.
