As a R&D Specialist – QA & Test Automation, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall quality of our web‑based and cloud‑based applications throughout the software development lifecycle. You will work closely with product, development, and operations teams to understand requirements, define test strategies, perform manual testing, and build test automation solutions that improve speed, reliability, and confidence in releases. You will help shape quality practices for the team, champion testability in designs, and contribute to continuous improvement of processes, tools, and test management in Jira and Xray Test.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and developers to review requirements and designs, clarify acceptance criteria, and define test scenarios and edge cases.
- Create, organize, and maintain test plans, cases, and data in Jira and Xray Test, perform manual and exploratory testing, and manage both functional and non‑functional test activities.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for UI, API, and back‑end layers, including the underlying frameworks, test environments, and supporting utilities.
- Integrate automated tests into build and deployment pipelines, monitor execution results in Xray Test, triage failures, and work with developers to resolve issues and reduce flakiness.
- Track and report quality metrics using Jira/Xray dashboards and actively participate in agile ceremonies to estimate testing efforts and continuously improve team practices.
Must have
- Expertise in testing web or cloud‑based applications, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Experience in testing fundamentals such as test design techniques, test planning, risk‑based testing, and defect/issue management.
- Building and maintaining automated tests using common UI/API automation tools (for example Selenium‑based frameworks, Playwright, Cypress, or similar) and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical experience using Jira and Xray Test for test case management, test execution, traceability to requirements/user stories, and defect tracking, plus basic database skills for creating and validating test data.
It would be nice if you also had
- Experience testing high‑traffic or large‑scale systems, including performance, reliability, and scalability aspects, and familiarity with basic performance/load‑testing tools and concepts.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and environment automation (for example AWS/Azure, containers, virtualized environments), along with awareness of basic security/compliance considerations and the use of monitoring/logging tools for root‑cause analysis.
