Responsibilities include designing schemas and resolvers, maintaining backward compatibility, optimizing performance, collaborating with architects, business analysts, and QA, troubleshooting integrations, conducting API testing, and documenting migrated services.
This is a remote position.

Project Overview
We are undertaking a high-impact migration project to modernise our integration layer by moving from SOAP-based APIs to GraphQL. The project involves working closely with retail–ecommerce platforms and requires professionals who can leverage their domain knowledge to ensure a smooth, efficient, and scalable migration.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects and business analysts to understand SOAP API workflows and business logic on Retail Client’s systems.
- Design, develop, and implement GraphQL schemas, resolvers, and integrations to replace existing SOAP APIs.
- Ensure backward compatibility and seamless transition for dependent applications.
- Optimize GraphQL queries and server performance for scalability and maintainability.
- Collaborate with QA to define test cases for API validation and regression testing.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Prepare technical documentation for the migrated services.
Required Skills & Experience
- Mandatory: Prior hands-on experience with eBay/Shopify APIs (SOAP, REST, or GraphQL).
- Strong experience with API design, development, and integration.
- Expertise in GraphQL (schema design, resolvers, API security, and performance optimization).
- Proficiency in REST API development (for alternate profiles if GraphQL experience is not available).
- Solid understanding of SOAP API structures, XML, and WSDL.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Node.js, or similar for backend API development.
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, GraphQL Playground, etc.).
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Profile Combination
- Highly Preferred: eBay /Shopify API experience + GraphQL expertise.
- Alternate: eBay API experience + REST API expertise.

- Type: Contract (Full-time, Onsite – Bangalore)
- Team Size: 5–10 engineers
- Start Date: 1st September
- Duration: 6 months initially
