Responsibilities :

JOB FUNCTION

Lexmark enters into contracts with customers to sell products (e.g., printers, cartridges, spare parts, software) and provide services (e.g., extended warranty, installation, maintenance, professional services), often bundled as Managed Print Services (MPS). These arrangements are complex and require careful analysis to comply with revenue recognition (ASC 606 as being convergent with IFRS 15) and lease accounting (ASC 842 as being convergent with IFRS 16). The Revenue Recognition team in Corporate Accounting handles contract analysis, revenue allocation, and the revenue recognition process, ensuring adherence to relevant US GAAP standards. The team is dynamic and supportive, offering opportunities to learn and apply these accounting standards thanks to wide range of accounting related and soft-skill training possibilities inside the team.

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

  • Analyze contracts to create accounting profile which will drive revenue allocation and recognition including lease identification/classification for lease deals.
  • Calculate data inputs (called as standalone selling prices -SSPs) for revenue allocation/recognition with the help of various SAP reports and business inputs gained from worldwide stakeholders.
  • Support revenue subject matter expert (SME) with other more complex revenue allocation/recognition related tasks.
  • Assist team leader/manager with SOX compliance requirements including internal/external audit support.
  • Work closely with the MPS Business Operations and Contract Setup teams for efficient customer setup process on the basis of accounting analysis prepared.
  • Support process improvements proactively.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Economics / Accounting
  • At least 2 years of work experience in multinational environment
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience is a plus (US GAAP or IFRS)
  • High level of comfort and ease in working with MS Excel
  • SAP or PowerBI knowledge is a plus

SKILLS

  • Fluent English mandatory, both written and oral
  • Spanish/French/Portuguese knowledge is a plus
  • Proactive in identifying issues and finding solutions
  • Very good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multinational environment where the needed information is coming from various functions and geographies
  • Ability to be flexible and meet deadlines
  • High analytical skills
