QED (https://qed.ai) is a tech company focused on improving public health, food security, and education. We bring the hacker spirit to global challenges faced in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, working with orgs such as the CDC, Gates Foundation, Global Fund, WHO, and the CGIAR.
Over the past decade, we have built digital infrastructure for many projects, including malaria and HIV surveillance, mobile hospitals, land cover mapping, plant disease detection, agroadvisory, and mathematics education. Our work lies at the intersection of international aid and scientific inquiry.
We are seeking a sharp in-person administrative coordinator to help us with office administration, communications, and asset tracking and organization. The scope of work includes:
Office administration: stocking of office supplies; management of landscaping and office renovations; vehicle management; procurement and repair of appliances; arranging accommodation, transportation, and visa applications for visitors; scheduling of meetings with governmental officials; booking of venues for conferences and ceremonies.
HR: administration of private health insurance plans, and registration of staff with the CNPS (social security and pension).
Financials: daily office expenses, monthly payments, and bookkeeping of payments.
Inventory tracking: track printing of ScanForm registers and books, and management of smartphone inventories.
Desired skills for the Administrative Coordinator position include:
Native/fluent French proficiency (≥C2) in speaking, reading, and typing (≥50 words per minute)
Professional working proficiency in English strongly preferred, to collaborate with QED's international team
High familiarity with basic desktop publishing and social media software, including Google Docs/Slides/Sheets and Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, WhatsApp.
Willingness to rapidly integrate ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI into daily workflows.
Strong logical thinking ability and basic number sense.
High emotional intelligence and empathy.
Energetic attitude and spirit.
Willingness to talk with clients and vendors in a variety of different situations and moods.
Desire to work with humanitarian organizations on missions of universal importance.
+3 years prior work experience preferred.
Candidates should work with us in-person, in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, with a full-time engagement.
