Primary Purpose: The Lab Assistant supports science teachers and students by preparing laboratory equipment, maintaining lab materials, and ensuring safe and organized laboratory operations. The role includes assisting during practical experiments and maintaining laboratory records and supplies.
- Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials required for practical experiments.
- Set up laboratory apparatus before practical classes.
- Ensure all instruments are in proper working condition.
- Assist teachers and students during laboratory experiments.
- Demonstrate proper use of laboratory equipment when required.
- Ensure students follow laboratory safety rules.
- Clean and maintain laboratory tools, instruments, and work areas.
- Ensure proper storage of chemicals and equipment.
- Report damaged equipment to the concerned teacher or administration.
4. Inventory Management
- Maintain records of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the school about required purchases.
- Assist in purchasing laboratory supplies when necessary.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all safety guidelines are followed in the laboratory.
- Properly label chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Dispose of chemical waste safely according to school guidelines.
6. Administrative Support
- Maintain laboratory registers and experiment records.
- Assist in organizing lab timetables and schedules.
- Support teachers in preparing demonstration materials.
