ABOUT THE ROLE

At Bestow, protecting our customers and company data is a top priority. As a Security Analyst I, you’ll play a key role in supporting our company-wide Security Program by helping ensure we meet compliance standards, manage risk, and implement security best practices.

You’ll work closely with internal teams and auditors, helping to collect and manage evidence for audits, interpret security controls, and advise on best practices. This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in cybersecurity, risk, and compliance while working alongside experienced security professionals. You’ll gain hands-on experience with security audits, compliance programs, and risk management strategies in a fast-moving and innovative environment.

This role reports to the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (Deputy CISO) and can be hybrid from our Dallas, TX headquarters (minimum 1 day/wk in office).

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support Security & Compliance Efforts – Help gather and manage security artifacts and evidence for audits to ensure we meet company and regulatory objectives.

  • Interpret & Apply Security Controls – Research and interpret security control requirements to help business partners implement best practices.

  • Advise on Security Strategy – Work with teams across the company (IT, Legal, Finance, Insurance Operations) to align security strategies with company goals.

  • Manage Access Reviews – Oversee quarterly access audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance.

  • Monitor & Respond to Security Events – Assist with incident response by tracking security alerts, working with IT to resolve issues, and keeping leadership informed.

  • Contribute to Governance & Compliance Efforts – Help develop security policies, guidelines, and process documentation to support audits and compliance initiatives.

  • Assist in Security Tools & Process Implementation – Support the Deputy CISO and senior security staff in implementing security tools and processes.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Degree in cybersecurity or 1-2 years of experience in Information Security, preferably in governance, risk, or compliance. Or any combination.

  • Security certifications (Security+, CC (ISC2)).

  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity tools, concepts, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, SOC2, ISO 27001).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks assigned by senior security staff.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills—you can break down complex security concepts for different teams.

  • Experience with audits, risk assessments, and evidence collection, especially in life insurance, financial, or government services, is a plus.

  • Those with prior experience with SOC2 audits will be given priority consideration.
