We are seeking a dedicated Security Operations Analyst to join our team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with previous experience in engineering or a security-focused role that has a passion for a career in Information Security. As a Security Operations Analyst, you'll be monitoring our corporate environment and Atlassian cloud services for signs of compromise and responding to alerts. In this role, you will be part of a team of dedicated professionals working to protect Atlassian and our customers from cyber threats. If you are a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for Information Security, we would love to hear from you.

  • Conduct initial triage of security issues/alerts and escalate security incidents to our Incident Response team.
  • Provide suggestions and feedback to enhance alert and detection coverage.
  • Take initiative to tune existing detections to reduce noise.
  • Contribute to the delivery of work towards long-term goals and initiatives, supporting Atlassian's overall security posture.
  • Identify potential attacks against Atlassian and our customers using the latest cybersecurity techniques and tools.
  • Investigate signs of compromise, utilizing your problem-solving skills and knowledge of cyber attacks and data analysis.
  • Adapt to change and organize work effectively according to business priorities.
  • Share your knowledge and expertise with the team, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts.


Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience working in an engineering or security-related field.
  • 1+ years experience in security and incident investigation.
  • Have experience in data analytics.
  • Ability to adjust to the unpredictable and constantly changing work that exists in the field of cybersecurity.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for Cyber Security
  • Excellent English communication skills (written & spoken)
  • Must be willing to work a shift schedule, including weekends, day, evenings, or night shifts.


Preferred:

  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud service platform
  • Contributions to the security community or open-source projects
  • Obtained Networking or Security certifications
