The Work You’ll DoAs a Senior Accountant based in Mumbai, you will join a dynamic finance team supporting a newly acquired entity in India, part of Sovos’ global organization.
This role is ideal for a qualified Chartered Accountant with strong progressive experience who is ready to take on increased ownership in a global SaaS environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, statutory compliance, and process optimization, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to the overall financial health of the business.
More specifically, your areas of responsibility will include:

Prepare and post complex journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, intercompany, and eliminations

Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring issues are identified and resolved timely

Complete monthly flux analyses and provide variance explanations to the Senior Manager and global finance leadership

Assist in onboarding and training new team members on close processes and accounting systems

Coordinate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and other teams to gather inputs needed for close and to resolve queries

Participate in process improvement initiatives to reduce close cycle time and increase accuracy using AI tools and techniques

Participate in the global consolidated audit and statutory audits, including the India entity, as needed
Skills and Competencies:

4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in a role involving GL close responsibilities

Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification

Knowledge of international accounting standards (U.S. GAAP and IFRS)

Experience preparing complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and period-end close workpapers

Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize in a fast-paced close environment

Prior experience in a multinational or shared services environment strongly preferred

Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proficiency in English

Ability to work cross-functionally across time zones
